Week 4: October 30th- Starting unit 2: Survival!

Alma
- We warmed up with questions about different uses of the verb make.
- We started unit 2: Survival.
- We did a listening on surfing and practised different meanings of the verb get.
- We saw the reading Lost in the Sea.
- We revised narrative tenses and practised a little bit.
- We saw a creepy video, Alma, to go on with the Halloween mood.

Homework:
- Page 155, Expressions with get, exercises a and b.
- Page 137: Narrative tenses, exercises b and c.
- Page 23.
- Write your findings on the detective case sheet I gave you. The findings about your investigation of the disappearance of children in the neighbourhood (following the video Alma).
- Find here the key to the diagnostic test.

Week 3: October 23rd & 25th- Beginning of Halloween week!!

- We warmed up with character adjectives and ways to break off a conversation.
- We practised question formation.
- We did Everyday English on pages 14 and 15 and saw how to break off a conversation, rapid speech and explaining and checking information.
- We saw the organisation of an article on pages 16 and 17.

- We revised Trying and succeeding vocabulary.
- We did the listening on technological devices on page 16.
- We saw and described two Halloween videos to our classmates. Kit Kat and Lux.
- We did a short diagnostic writing.
- We completed the verbs of the gapped lyrics of Rocket Man by Elton John.
- We have started learning Da Da language in our second round of reduced groups.
Homework:
- Vocabulary sheet.
- Writing an article, page 17 of the Student's Book.
- Reading and excercises on page 21.

Week 2: October 16th & 18th- Challenges and diagnostic test

- We warmed up with information about our cities and revising character adjectives.
- We revised character adjectives with the Vocabulary Focus on page 154.
- We did the listening, vocabulary and readings on 30-day challenges.
- We practised word stress.
- We did a reading and a couple of grammar exercises as a diagnostic test and we corrected them.
- We did a listening to test this skill.
- We saw a video of Elmo learning things, to try and identify what he was singing about. You can play it with and withour subtitles.
Homework:
Exercise 2b on page 16 and 3a to 3f on pages 16-17.

Week 1: October 9th & 11th- Let's get started!!

Sesame Street
- We exchanged information about what we remembered.
- We saw a little bit about the blog and webpage.
- We did pages 8 and 9 from the book, the readings about Apple and Sesame Street, revised the verb system and also exercise 4 on page 10: pronunciation of letter e.
- We did a Find someone who... speaking activity to revise the verb system.
Reduced groups: we're revising -ed pronunciations.
Homework:
- Find information about the population of your city.
- Do the vocabulary page on character description, page 154

- We prepared and gave our presentations.

Week 29: May 15th &17th- The week of the Virus!!

Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum
- We corrected pages 160-161 and we are going to do the report on page 161.
- We revised connectors on those pages.
- We practised modals of different levels of certainty with a speaking practice: Brain Teasers.
- We saw The Speech, episode nº4, season 3 of IT Crowd.
- We revised structures used in the episode.
- We did a writing in class.
- We started money troubles, page 124.
Homework:
- Unit 113 of the connectors handout.
- Some research on a topic from page 85, ex.12 so that we pracrise presentations next week.
