Week 13: 25th & 27th January- Newspaper language and IT Crowd!!

- We revised structures to talk about the future in newspaper headlines.
- We did 4B: Cities and technology, we saw a couple of listenings on Star Trek and structures to talk about the future in the past.
- We explained and drew our classmates' crazy inventions.
- We received feedback from exercise on inversion This is my life.
- We did 4C: Making a splash, revised the differences between tabloids and broadsheets and went through the photocopy on newspaper language.
- We corrected the writing exercises on page 33.
- We saw The Red Door, the 4th episode of the first season of IT Crowd.
Homework:
-Writing on page 33, ex. 6 and 7.
- Ex. 2 page 46
- Writing about the story of The Red Door.

Week 12: January 18th & 20th- Breaking news!

- We revised the structure "Not only + inversion" and euphemism and strategies to be tactful.
- We presented our pieces of news in small groups.
- We started 4A: Society and the media.
- We practised phonetic transcription with David Bowie's Starman. This is the exercise we did.
- We saw structures to speak about the future in 4A.
- We got feedback on Portfolio 1.
- We read our classmates inversion exercises This is my life.

Week 11: January 11th & 13th- Coming back after Christmas- Good bye Mr Jones!

- We talked about the best day we remembered from the break and we saw the results of the Christmas party.
- We corrected the  reading comprehensions we had for homework.
- We did 3B, revised health vocabuary, talked about health advice and saw inversion after restictive and negative adverbials.
- We practised the use of fillers and redundancy.
- We practised a task on quick reading.
Homework: Exs. 2, 3, 4 and 5 on page 33.
