Week 11: 15th & 17th December 2014- End of the year

- At course level, it's time to evaluate your work up to now and to set goals for the rest of the course. I'll be giving you the general objectives for the year, which I also include here in more detailed fashion, as they appear in the BOCM.
- We practised strees and rhythm in conditionals on page 31.
- We practised making, accepting and refusing offers with ex. 6 page 31.
- We did a reading exercise on the making of a play.
- We did a couple of listening exercises on acting and a famous mistake.
- We practised third conditional sentences in spoken interaction.
- We saw connecting words in 4C: Very funny.
- We wrote the story and meaning of 3x3 from Film English. (15')

Homework: - Writing of Portfolio 7 from the Workbook.
                     - Parts 1E and 3E pages 16 and 17 from the Handbook.
                     - Take at least 5 photos to explain your holidays on the day back to school. You can have them in the gallery of your mobile or use a web tool to create a collage with all your photos. You can use Be Funky, register for free and go to Create Collage. There you can select the photos you want, on the template you prefer and save in your personal BeFunky gallery. It's also a free app for the mobile phone that is even easier to use. Week 10: 10th & 12th December, 2014 - The rehearsal starts: Jingle Bell Rock

- We started rehearsing Jingle Bell Rock, by Bobby Helms to see if we finally win the contest this year!! Here goes the lyrics for you to practice.
- We spoke about the books we had read with the dice and we wrote a crazy story of different books.
- We revised recurrent mistakes  from the correction of Portfolio 1 and the second writing on The IT Crowd, Calamity Jen.
- We corrected the exercises on the 3rd conditional from page 27 and the ones about verbs with prepositions from page 29.
- We practised second conditionals with the activity about Life threatening situations.
- We did 3D: How can I help? making, accepting and refusing offers.

Homework: reading April Fool, page 36 ex.2 and reading And the Oscar goes to..., page 73 ex.2b and 3.

Week 9: 1st & 3rd December - The aftermath of the festival

- We went through the handout about the films and we extracted useful vocabulary from them.
- We went through a vocabulary sheet on film vocabulary.
- We practised the intonation for agreeing and disagreeing tag questions.
- We practised crime vocabulary in speaking with Laws from around the world.
- We did 3B: It shouldn't be allowed!
- We practised the pronunciation of contractions in conditionals.

Homework:
-Speaking recording on the film handout to be sent by e-mail. Up to five minutes.
-Exercises 8 and 9 page 27.

Week 8: 24th &26th Novembre, 2014 - Film festival!!

-We practised second conditional structures with ex.6 page 25.
-We did 3C: The cost of crime, where we practised listening, reading and speaking about crimes and sentences.
-We got the results of the listening placement test and revised different strategies to study and revise effectively.
-We saw the trailer of the films in the Film Festival: Maleficent and Grand Budapest Hotel.
-We saw the film and had a handout to prepare for next day's warming up.
