Week 18: 16th & 18th February - Back to normal

Montblanc- The Beauty of a Second
- We revised the future continuous tense with imagined sentences about 2050.
- We saw work vocabulary and collocations in 11A: Meeting up.
- We did a gapped exercise on the dialogue on page 76.
- We saw the future perfect tense and practised on page 77.
- We did another gapped exercise on a dialogue about art exhibitions in 9C: Is it art?
- We saw how to avoid repetition with reduced infinitives and missing words.
- We read and saw a video about Michael Landy's Break Down.
- We practised homonyms.
- We saw two videos about Montblanc's contest. The first compilation of videos and the presentation by Wim Wenders.

  • Homework: Make a video about something beautiful and send it to teacher. Five seconds maximum.
  • Ex. 1 and 2c page 48

Week 17: 9th & 11th February - Break for the mock exam

- We did the grammar, vocabulary and reading part on Monday, together with the listening comprehension exercises.
- We did one writing production on Wednesday.
- We told stories from cards about past experiences.
- We did a listening comprehension about reading in English.

Homework: ex. 5 and 6 page 77 Student Book

Week 16: 2nd, 4th & 6th February- Future forms

- We told the jokes we knew using relatives.
- We did 5B: Royal treasures.
- We saw some phrasal verbs.
- We listened to a conversation using those phrasal verbs and future forms.
- We revised future forms and future continuous.
- We did 5C: The nature of cities.
- We practised homophones and how to guess meaning from context.
- We saw a video called Songs that include the future tense.
- We saw that Jeffrey Hill is back and the possibility to do a MOOC by the British Council.
- We did oral practice on conversation on Friday.

Homework: Ex. 7 page 43, extra exercises on the, as/like and relatives.

Week 15: 26th & 28th January - Relatives

- We told stories exaggerating our days.
- We saw defining and non-defining relative clauses in 4B: First books.
- We got feedback on writing on Portfolio 7.
- We told jokes with dramatic present.
- We revised the use of article the, and like/as.
- We completed and read a story with relatives.
- We practised rhythm and stress in weak/strong forms of auxiliaries.
Homework: -Complete extra exercises on like/as, the, will/going to from English Grammar in Use.
- Ex.3 page 44 in the book.
