Week 3: October 24th & 26th- Discussing art

- We warmed up reviewing talking about habits, telling plots and disagreeing politely.
- We played a video of a work of art: Michael Landy's Break down.
- We discussed art with famous quotations in the book: In the picture.
- We described a picture with new vocabulary and listened to an guide's explanation of two pictures.
- We revised the differences in use of adjectives and adverbs.
- We practised everything with the description of two more pictures.
- We practised talking about habits in groups for a minute.
- We did beginning of the year grammar, vocabulary and listening exercises.
- We saw a Halloween video: The Passenger.

Homework:
Page 167, exercises 2,3 and 4.
Page 15, exercises 1 and 3.
Write your contribution to the Halloween story.

Week 2: October 17th & 19th- Interests, habits, arts and films!

BBC 2
- We revised our first day.
- We got feedback about the introductory writing you had written.
- We started Unit 1: Entertainment, pages 8 and 9 A question of taste.
- We saw structures to talk about habits in the present and in the past.
- We saw adverbs and adverbial phrases of frequency.
- We spoke about habits.
- We saw adjectives to describe films, music and books.
- We listened to people talking about habits.
- We practise pronunciation and intonation of complete sentences.
- We practised structures to disagree politely.
- We did Telling tales, pages 12 and 13. We read a text and practised telling a plot.

Homework:
- Page 10 exercises 3, 4 and 5.
- Write a contribution to the Halloween Story.

Week 1: October 10th- Back to school!

Dear students,
Welcome to this new year. 
This Monday we're getting introduced to the basics of what the year is going to work like and we're also meeting our new teacher and classmates.

I'm giving you a short questionnaire with a little writing exercise to do in class and, yes! you're getting some work to do at home to make up for the rough beginning.
