Week 14: January 22nd & 24th- A visit to the theatre: The Spirit of Harry Houdini

Forum Teatro
- We revised vocabulary to talk about cause and result.
- We read about people's jobs and modals to speak about necessity.
- We worked with vocabulary meaning different levels of difficulty and read about the training in the Pekin Opera School and the Swiss Guards.
- We did a listening about The Spirit Harry Houdini.
- We went to the theatre to see the play: 19.30 at José María Rodero Theatre.

Homework:
- Exercises page 141: 4B
- Put the scrambled sentenced of the Houdini tricks in the correct order.

Week 13: January 15th&17th- Life Lessons

- We warmed up remembering the details of the two stories of lottery winers that we read about.
- We learnt and revised about used to and would.
- We did a listening about the importance of money regarding happiness.
- We corrected unit 10 of the photocopy on the present perfect.
- We did a writing in class about the H&M Christmas ad.
- We revised habitual actions in the past.
- We did the NPR listening and the tasks designed by all the students.
- We did the vocabulary on cause and result and the listening on page 46.
Homework:
- Exercise 5d page 46.
- Exercise 4a and 4b page 48.

Week 12: January 8th & 10th- Resuming lessons in a new year!

- We showed and explained Christmas photos to our classmates.
- We revised pages 40 and 41 with the key on the blog.
- We revised the BBC webpage on Make your Move and Get Inspired.
- We did the listening on page 40, ex.1 about people taking up different sports.
- We did a reading on people struggling for survival, that I collected.
- We're choosing our favourite photo to talk about at the beginning of Wednesday's class.
- We've started another round of reduced groups activities with a listening from unit 2 in the workbook to practise how to improve your listening and speaking skills.
- We also explained our favourite pictures from the links below. Here is the virtual wall I'd like you to write on: Best 2017 photo wall.
- We corrected unit 10 from the present perfect photocopy.
- We started unit 4 and read about two people who had won the lottery.
- We got familiar with past and present habits.

Homework:
- Unit 11 from the photocopy.
- Writing on our Best 2017 photo wall.
- Giving back the corrected version of the letters to the ministers.

Week 11: December 18th&20th- Last class of the year and Christmas party!

- We saw our Artistic Video Creation! and told each other about our individual videos.
- We did a listening on people following their interests.
- We finished page 37.

- We practised making careful suggestions on page 39.
- We did a reading and a listening on The Sport Gene, on pages 35 and 36.
- We practised present perfect simple and continuous.
- We sang our Christmas carol. Holy Jolly Christmas.

Week 9: December 4th- Everyday English

- We warmed up by giving a little presentation on an activity you have put a lot of effort into.
- We did pages 38 and 39: Everyday English.
- We practiced how to keep the topic of a conversation, consonant sounds and making careful suggestions.

Homework:
- Exercise 2 page 36.
- Vocabulary exercises on page 156. We'll do the pronunciation together in class.
- We didn't have time to see the Christmas carol together, but here it is if you want to have a look: Holy Jolly Christmas.

Week 8: November 27th & 29th- Starting Unit 3: Talent

- We exchanged information about the endangered animals we have read about.
- We started unit 3: Talent.
- We read  and did a listening on Learning to Learn.
- We saw vocabulary about ability and achievement and a listening about learning experiences.
- We did two pages on formal and informal letters or emails to prepare our letter to the minister.
-  We learnt about multi word verbs and practised a little.

Homework:
- Page 35.
- Write an email to the minister of the country of your choice in order to deal with the problems your species is facing.
- Send a five-second video on something beautiful.
